Woman murdered downtown: latest on case, family trouble

Posted: Updated:
BEACHWOOD, OH (WOIO) -

No arrests have been made yet for the murder last month of a Beachwood woman in downtown Cleveland. We did, however, find police at her house, but not for the investigation.

Someone stabbed Aliza Sherman 11 times.

Two Beachwood Police cars were outside the home Monday afternoon. Beachwood police say they'd been called to give family members an escort as they retrieved belongings. Family tension had been simmering before the murder, and it's become more public.

In fact, multiple sources are whispering about a comment at the funeral. We're told a son told a crowd, 'my father did not kill my mother.'

Aliza Sherman had been going through a bitter divorce. But it's important to note, police have not named any suspect, and they have not said the family troubles led to the murder.
