CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A mom and dad convicted of savagely abusing their newborn daughter, were sentenced to prison on Wednesday.

In September 2012, Crystal Ulrey, 20, and David Voelker, 22, assaulted their 26-day-old little girl at their home on West 16th.

Ulrey took the baby to Fairview Hospital due to a high fever. During the examination, it was discovered the baby had six broken ribs along with other injuries; including, bruises to her shoulder, neck, chin and jaw and bite marks.

On March 4, 2013, both Ulery and Voelker each pled guilty to one count of endangering children. Police say Voekler caused the injuries, but Ulery didn't stop it or get help.

Ulrey will spend 2 years in prison and Voelker will spend 3 years in prison.
