Phase One of Flats Redevelopment Almost Complete

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The views from the top floor, twenty three stories high, in the new Ernst and Young office tower, a centerpiece of the ongoing flats east bank redevelopment project, are stunning to say the least.  The project itself has provided a stunning transformation of this once gritty area of the flats.  The first phase of the project includes the office tower and the Aloft Hotel, plus three restaurants on the ground floor of the hotel.

"There's two hundred years of history right where we stand and decisions were made then about what to do with the property and only a great vision like this is going to change it, and change it forever," said Harley Cohen of the Wolstein Group, the developers of the project.

@Wells Fargo Bank just signed on and will take up an entire floor of office space in the tower.

"It's a great space, it's a great market, it's a great facility, and we're looking for people all the time so as we grow, this will provide us with the space we need to that in the future," said Wells Fargo Vice President Don Hayes.

The office tower and the hotel are expected to open in June, right about the same time work is set to begin on phase two.  That part of the project, which will be built, just west of the hotel and adjacent to the Cuyahoga River will include a six story residential building, an entertainment complex that will include numerous bars and restaurants, on the north part of the property, and a river walk.
