The MRI results are in, and it's a small setback for Indians LHP Scott Kazmir.
The examination revealed a right rib cage strain, which means Kazmir is headed to the 15-day DL (backdated to April 2), and will likely miss 2-3 starts.
In his place, the Indians will call up Trevor Bauer to start on Saturday against Tampa Bay. Bauer, who was acquired in the Shin-Soo Choo trade in December, will make only his fifth career start in the majors. He was 1-2 with a 6.06 ERA with Arizona last season. This spring, Bauer was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and nine strikeouts in 14 innings.
The Indians aren't saying if Bauer will be sent down after Saturday's game.
The Indians would have likely called up Carlos Carrasco for Saturday's start, but he is serving a six-game suspension.
