Tribe falls in Toronto, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad

Posted: Updated:

Toronto (WOIO) - Two out of three ain't bad, and that's what the Indians will take with them as they head to Tampa, following Thursday night's 10-8 loss to the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre.

The two teams combined for 23 hits, with the Indians managing 14 of them, but the Blue Jays were digging the long ball, especially against Tribe starter Brett Myers.

Handed a 1-0 lead in the first, Myers promptly gave up a two-run bomb to Jose Bautista. J.P. Arencibia followed that up in the second inning with a solo shot off Myers.

The Indians answered with back to back home runs of their own in the fourth, as Carlos Santana and Mark Reynolds went deep, but Myers promptly gave up a three-run blast to Edwin Encarnacion that broke a 3-3 tie.

Arencibia would take Myers deep again in the 6th, before Terry Francona pulled the plug.

Myers went five innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits.
