AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police in Akron are investigating a road rage shooting.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on Kenmore Boulevard.

Police say a 20-year-old woman was shot in the left shoulder following what appeared to be a road rage incident. The victim was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Kenmore, when the driver of the vehicle apparently crossed paths with the suspects in another vehicle.

Both vehicles pulled into a parking lot on West Waterloo Road near Cory Avenue when the occupants of both vehicles got into a verbal argument. The suspect then fired several shots into the victim's vehicle. One shot struck the victim in the left shoulder. The suspect(s) fled before police arrived.

The victim was transported to Akron General Medical Center where her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The suspect is a black man with braided hair. He was last seen in a silver four-door car.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Akron Police at 330-375-2181.
