Adorable Little Lauren Riddle was a tiny three-year old when 19 Action News Reporter Dawn Kendrick first introduced her to our viewers.

Lauren had been staying in a hospital room for one year waiting for a heart transplant.

Her parents were heartbroken, knowing she simply would not live without a heart donor.

She had spent one-third of her life admitted as a patient when another family's tragedy made her second chance a reality.

A one-year old donor meant Lauren would finally be able to go home with her family.

Over the years we have followed Lauren's progress and many long time viewers and members of the news team will most likely remember her.

Fast forward to present day and the 13 year old is more full of life than ever and celebrating her 10th anniversary of "the miracle God gave her".

Still to come, Lauren's wedding day and kids of her own.

All brought to you by donor family who chose life in the face of unthinkable tragedy.

"I think about it every time I hug her...what an awesome gift we got," said Lauren's dad.
