Weekend talks fail to produce new deal for Strongsville teachers

Posted: Updated:
STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

The picket line is going back up in Strongsville after a weekend bargaining session failed to reach an agreement between teachers and the district.

The union tells 19 Action News it offered new concessions, but the board turned it down. No word of any new talks. [Read the new proposal HERE]

The district is asking teachers to pay more of the healthcare costs. Teachers want to unfreeze a merit pay system the district had.

Monday marks Week 8 of the strike.
