And with the 6th pick in the NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select....

Cleveland (WOIO) - As I write this, on the eve of the NFL Draft, I admit what almost everyone else should admit, 24 hours before Round 1: I know nothing. The Browns could go offense, they could go defense. They could trade down, they could, well, scratch that...no way they're trading up. But the fact is, NFL execs aren't exactly working the phones, leaking secrets to the national and local media, hours before the draft. Almost all of the information coming out at this point comes from agents, and they, of course, have their own agendas, hoping their guys climb, and other players slide.

That said, I can recognize trends, evaluate team needs, and zero in somewhat, so here we go.

If Dion Jordan, the outside linebacker from Oregon, somehow slips past Jacksonsville at # 2 and Philly at # 4 (and no way his college coach, Chip Kelly, lets that happen), the Browns take him. It's a no-brainer.

If the Browns trade down, but stay in the early 'teens, Tyler Eifert, the Notre Dame tight end, is a serious possibility. They not only get the premier tight end in the draft for Chud's tight end-friendly offense, they add another pick via the trade.

If Joe Banner exercises his authority, his past affection for smaller, lightning-quick players could bring Tavon Austin, the West Virginia wide receiver, to Cleveland.

If neither Chud nor Norv are truly sold on Brandon Weeden, they may roll the dice, and take West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith.

If, if, if, if, if....so many if's. But here's my final "if", which leads to my final take:

If Jordan's gone by # 6, the Browns find Dee Milliner too talented to pass up, and take the Alabama cornerback, giving Joe Haden a future Pro Bowler to work with. The Browns won't be scared off by the five surgeries Milliner underwent while in college. They'll take him, and have the best CB tandem in this town since Dixon-Minnifield.

Of course, I could be wrong.
