CMSD CEO names city's first 'Investment Schools'

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

On Thursday, April 25th, Cleveland Schools CEO Eric Gordon announced which schools would be first to participate in the city's new concept of "Investment Schools." Money and other resources, will target  the 13 schools listed below, they demonstrated the greatest need for assistance.

Luis Munoz Marin

Mound

Kenneth Clement Boys Leadership Academy

Case

Robinson G. Jones

Walton

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Anton Grdina

Carl and Louis Stokes Central Academy

Collinwood High School

John Adams High School

Lincoln-West High School

Gordon is making good on a levy promise to improve or replace low performing classrooms.

 "Turning around CMSD's low performing schools is at the heart of the Cleveland Plan," said the CEO. "Our Investment Schools represent not only our greatest, clearest need, but also our greatest opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students."

Additional schools will be named as Investment Schools for 2014-15 and 2015-2016.
