Strongsville teachers return to work after weeks on the picket line

STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Strongsville teachers are back in the classroom after 8 weeks on the picket line.

A new, 3-year contract deal was finally reached over the weekend.

In the end, teachers got a 10% raise, but will have to pay more for their healthcare plans. Teacher duty assignments were also adjusted.

Board officials say what they approved is financially sustainable.

The contract included a clause that said no one will be penalized for participating in the strike.

The new agreement is good until June 30 of 2015.
