CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

"Chris Belman of ESPN in studio filming day one of an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Cleveland sports fans," said Tony Rizzo, WKNR 850 am.

Belman, who grew up in the Akron area, is the same guy who made More than a Game about Lebron James.

He's back to give Cleveland sports fans some props for their decades of loyalty despite disappointing teams and plays year after year.

Who can ever forget Red Right 88, Jordan sinking that shot that dashed the Cavs chances, the Browns leaving in '95, the Indians losing to the Braves and The Decision.

Belman wants the world to know why we won't give up on our sports teams.

"Riz, Chris, it comes down to two things. Tradition passed down from my dad and hope.  Every year there's new hope that this is the year," said Joe in Medina.

"One tradition and two being a Cleveland fan is a metaphor for life.  Life will punch you in the gut.  It will knock you down in the dirt.  It will rub mud in your face but you get up, dust yourself off and keep plugging forward," said Seth in Cleveland Heights.

That's the kind of grit and loyalty 30 for 30 is looking to spotlight.

"It's about hope.  It's about optimism and it's about our connection as human being with our sports teams," said Tony.

"We're tough. We're blue collar.  We know that it's going to come around.  It's going to come around soon," said another Cleveland fan.
