Attempted Solon Abductions: 911 calls released

Posted: Updated:

19 Action News has the 911 call that came in from Park East Apartment complex moments after a 17 year old woman was grabbed by a guy who came up from out of nowhere.

911 Caller: "I'm opening up the door and this guy comes up with his shirt like over his head.  His shirt is off.  It's a black young boy.  He was by himself and he's like pulling on my arm."

Just two days later around the same time of the night between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. another victim calls police. That woman is 70 years old.

911 Caller: "All at once somebody came up and grabbed me from behind.  I mean I screamed - by myself - it's dark out you know, and there's a young man.  I never seen the male before. Why, he ran when I screamed."

In both cases the suspect took off running into the woods when the victim screamed.  Police say they're trying to get to the bottom of who the guy is.

"We're just asking people to really keep an eye out, let us know if they see something suspicious," said Lt. Bruce Felton, Solon Police Dept.

One of the owners of Park East Apartment Complex told us to get off the property.  He said he didn't want to be interviewed for our story.  But the people who live there have told us they are scared - one was brought to tears.

"I don't want to hear that. I don't want to hear that," cried one resident. "Are you going to be more vigilant," asked 19 Action News reporter Denise Zarrella. "Yeah, very!" she answered.
