The University of Georgia always has one of the premier gymnastics programs in the country.
On Friday, they added arguably the best gymnast in the state.
Tift County Gym Devil Beth Roberts is now a Gym Dog.
In front of family and teammates, the seven-time state champion signed her letter of intent to the University of Georgia today.
Roberts led the Gym Devils to back-to-back state titles in 2011 and 2012, as well as a runner-up performance in 2013, as well as being named the 2012 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Gymnast of the Year.
Roberts says she can barely believe what she's worked so hard to accomplish over years has finally come true.
"After just going to the meets when I was a little girl and seeing all the girls do what they do, they're so great and fun to watch," she says. "Now I'm going to be down there and all the little girls are going to be watching me. It's just a dream come true."
Roberts has some unfinished business before heading to Athens though. She competes in the USA Gymnastics National Championships next weekend.
