Stubbs sends Tribe to 5th straight win

Posted: Updated:

Drew Stubbs RBI double off the wall in left field scored Mike Aviles to give the Indians a 7-6 win over Minnesota on Friday night. Stubbs finished the day with four hits.

The Twins took a 6-5 lead in the seventh when Chris Parmalee slugged a two run home run off of Cody Allen. Allen came on in relief of Justin Masterson. Masterson allowed five runs in 6.2 innings of work.

Jason Kipnis would catch a break when he tied the game for Cleveland in the 8th. With the bases loaded and one out, Kipnis hit what looked like a double-play ball to second, but Brian Dozier  misplayed the ball and had to settle for one out. The miscue allowed Mike Aviles to score the tying run. Kipnis would finish with four RBI's. Aviles would later come home on Stubbs game winner.
