Two killed in industrial accident in Canton

PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The Perry Township Fire Department confirms that at 12:51 p.m. on Saturday, May 04, 2013, they received a call for assistance regarding an industrial accident at the Timken Plant on Fair crest Street SW in Canton.

The Stark County Sheriff's Office dispatcher also confirmed the coroner was called to the scene of the accident.

According to the Stark County Coroner two men, Brian Black and Mark Tovissi, both workers of the Beaver Excavating Company, were rigging a load beneath a crane when it broke free.

The crane landed on both men, causing massive injuries and instantaneous death.

The families of the victims have been notified.
