Officers "Circle Toledo" to get drunk drivers off the road

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

113 police officers from Lucas, Wood, Fulton and Monroe Counties participated in Circle Toledo on Friday night.

Circle Toledo is an annual OVI enforcement event that looks to increase public awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving as well as remove offenders from the road.

There were 464 vehicles stopped in the effort.

There were 17 OVI arrests and 262 warnings issued.

Officers issued 16 seat belt citations and 66 speeding citations.

The event lasted 12 hours and included officers from over thirty police agencies around the Toledo area.
