Mike Pelfrey shut down a red-hot Indians offense on Sunday afternoon to lead Minnesota to a 4-2 win at Progressive Field. Pelfrey threw six innings allowing one run on four hits and walk. He struck out seven. Glen Perkins earned his seventh save of the year.
The Twins struck first, scoring two in the second on a two-run Trevor Plouffe home run. Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau would drive in runs later to pad the lead.
Carlos Santana clobbered his sixth home run of the year in the loss.
The Tribe's six game winning streak is over, they fall to 14-14 on the season. Oakland will be in town for a three game series starting on Monday.
