The Browns have signed offensive tackle Rashad Butler, according to his agent Ken Sarnoff. Sarnoff tweeted out congratulations to Butler on signing with Cleveland.
The deal is believed to be a one-year deal.
Butler has missed 30 of the last 32 games because of tearing his triceps twice in two years. He'll be competing for a back-up job behind left tackle Joe Thomas and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz.
Butler was originally a third round pick of Carolina in 2006 but never suited up for the Panthers. He then signed with Houston in 2007 and played in 42 games for the Texans.
