The Indians held on to beat Detroit 7-6 on Saturday night. Chris Perez picked up his sixth save of the season when he got Miguel Cabrera to ground out with two runners on base. The Tigers already had a run in in the ninth.
Cleveland's bullpen had a rare bad night. In the 7th, with the Indians leading 6-1, relievers Nick Hagadone and Cody Allen combined to give up four runs on two hits and two walks. The inning put Detroit back in the game.
Ubaldo Jimenez had a good outing on a night where Justin Verlander had a rare bad one. Verlander only lasted five innings, he was tagged for four runs. Jimenez went six, allowing only one run and striking out eight.
