CURTICE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The U.S. Coast Guard has confirming that a missing boater is now safe.

Representatives for the Coast Guard tell WTOL 11, a boater left the Meinke Marina, near Curtice, around 6 o'clock Monday evening to go fishing.

He never returned from his trip.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, the Coast Guard got a report of the missing man and began searching for him by boat and helicopter.

Board Patrol agents located him around 6:15 a.m.

Officials say the boater told them his engine became disabled.

He is being escorted back to land and is said to be uninjured.
