Brunswick High School shut down in wake of Norovirus outbreak

In an effort to combat a contagious Norovirus outbreak, school officials have decided to close Brunswick High School for the rest of the week.

Elementary and middle schools in the Brunswick City School district are closed, too.

All building events have been canceled. All outside events, such as sports, are still on as scheduled.

The remaining senior exams have been canceled with the exception of the following:

  • Seniors who need to pass a final in order to pass a class
  • Seniors who want to take a final to improve a semester grade

Those seniors must report to school on Tuesday, May 28 at the regularly scheduled class period time to take their finals. All others will be exempted from the final.

School officials feel confident a full schedule of classes and activities will resume on Tuesday, May 28.
