Toledo sex offender wanted for failing to change address

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for the public's help locating a sexually oriented offender with a felony warrant out for his arrest.

James Lee Smith, 50, last registered his address in December as being on 17th Street in Toledo. The Lucas County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for his arrest in January, after finding he failed to provide them with a change of address.

According to public records, Smith was convicted of the sexual battery of a juvenile female in 2002 and he was released from custody in 2005. He later pleaded no contest to a charge of attempted failure to verify in July 2011, and was sentenced to serve 15 months in prison.
