Once again, Cleveland has been transformed into a movie set for Marvel Studio's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And making movie magic means road closures and alternate routes for motorists and pedestrians.

New road closures were announced on Friday, much to the chagrin of drivers who found themselves in sudden gridlock.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

It's probably not going to be smooth sailing Friday morning especially for drivers who typically take the Shoreway.

But for the next couple of weeks, you're going to have to get used to seeing downtown streets in Cleveland transformed into a Hollywood set.

"It's very exciting.  I think it's great for the city of Cleveland," said Danielle Fitch.

But all of this movie magic leads to commuter chaos.

"This is our first time in Cleveland and it has not been fun so far," said Mike Brown.

And with the Shoreway closing down for two weeks drivers better get used to traffic snarls.

The map of detours and closed roads might make your head spin.

"It feels like Cleveland has been under construction since like 1868 right now," added Mike.

It's likely to get worse before it gets better. But folks enjoying a beautiful night at Edgewater Park along the lake didn't seem to mind the temporary headaches the Captain America filming is bringing.

"Let the city make the money. Restaurants. Parking lots. They all need the money," said Leo Torres.

"I think we'll deal with it to get the city recognized for positive things," said Danielle Fitch.

"I think it's good for Cleveland that we're having that.  It draws attention to Cleveland...gets people all excited about the movie," said Avery Trank.
