CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A sign has been delivered to Richard Dameron so he can carry out his sentence Monday after threatening to kill popular Cleveland police officer Jim Simone.

Dameron was also sentenced to jail, but now that he's served his time he has to stand outside the 2nd District Police Station on Fulton with a sign apologizing for his threat.

The sentence was given by Judge Pinkey Carr.  She ordered the punishment sign and her bailiff delivered it to Dameron Sunday.

"You will wear a sign which will read 'I apologize to officer Simone his family, all law enforcement officers,'" Judge Carr said at Dameron's sentencing back in March.

The sign also says, "I'm an idiot for calling 911 threatening to kill you."
