TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police are looking for two cars involved in a late morning shooting in north Toledo.

Shortly after 11 a.m., Toledo police responded to a call of shots fired at Sherman and Elm streets, but found nothing.

Minutes later, a red van dropped off a man with gunshot wounds at the emergency room. The victim, Duwaynn Payne, said the incident happened at Elm and Moore streets.

Police then checked that area and found shell casings, along with other evidence in the 1000 block of Moore.

Police say several men in an older, white, rusty car exchanged gunfire with another vehicle.

However, the preliminary stories from the victim and witnesses don't match up completely, according to police.

Payne's condition is fair at this time.

The investigation continues. Anyone with more information is urged to call police.
