The 27-year-old Elyria man accused of murdering his live-in girlfriend and the mother of his children pled not guilty Monday and the judge set bond at $1,000,000.

Elyria Police say Vernon Shallenberger killed Lauren Moore, 26.

She was found dead in their home last Thursday when police officers were called to the home to check on her welfare.

The couple's children, a 6-year-old son, 3-year-old daughter and 4-month-old daughter, are being cared for by relatives.
