Akron: Reward offered in recent homicide

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

The Akron Police Department is asking for assistance from the public for information that could lead to the arrest of Randy A. Thomas.

Thomas is wanted for the aggravated murder of Anthony R. Smith, 21, of Whitney Avenue in Akron that occurred on April 13, 2013.  Thomas shot Smith in the chest while outside a house in the 1300 block of 8th Avenue.  Smith was transported to Akron City Hospital where he later died.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered by the Summit County Crimestoppers Inc. for information directly related to the arrest of Randy A. Thomas.

Randy A. Thomas has a last known address on 7th Avenue in Akron. He is 21 years old, 5'9" tall and 220 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
