Berea, OH (WOIO) - Trent Richardson was held out of practice again on Tuesday, as his teammates kicked off another mini-camp, and will remain sidelined until training camp in August, but the Browns insist they're just being cautious.
"We're just holding him. He could have gone the next couple of days, but we're being precautionary with it", said Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski following the workout. "We don't want to make the strain any worse."
Richardson, who dealt with a knee and rib injury during his rookie season of 2012, has been nursing a lower leg strain for a couple of weeks, but said last week that "it's no biggie". Richardson was not available for comment on Tuesday.
A Cleveland radio station reported on Tuesday that the Browns are concerned that the leg strain could lead to a stress fracture if they pushed Richardson to return. Chudzinski said he's not familiar with all of the medical possibilities, but that it's simply a strain, and they won't want to make it worse than a strain.
