Two shot after Akron bar fight; shooter flees on motorcycle

Two people were shot in Akron after a bar fight.

It happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Thurston Street and South Hawkins Avenue.

The victims, a 47-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, were involved in a verbal argument with the suspect at a bar in the 500 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard.

The suspect followed the victims to Thurston Street and South Hawkins Avenue, when he pulled up next to the victim's car and fired several shots into the car. The suspect fled on his motorcycle in an unknown direction.

The woman was struck in the right hip and the man was struck in the right shoulder. The victims were transported to Akron General Medical Center where their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
