Arlington, TX (WOIO) - 16 losses in 20 games, including 8 straight, as the slide continues for the Indians. The latest, a 6-3 loss to the Texas Rangers on Monday night, as the Tribe let a rare lead slip away.
Craig Gentry started the scoring in the second inning, bringing A.J. Pierzynski home with an RBI single, but the Indians answered immediately, on Carlos Santana's bases-loaded double in the third that put the Indians up 3-1.
Jeff Baker followed that up by taking Scott Kazmir deep for a two-run home run in the fourth, to tie the game at three, but after that, Kazmir settled down for a bit, going six innings, and giving up four earned runs.
The crushing blow came in the 7th, when Nick Hagadone, on in relief, gave up a two-run blast to Lance Berkman that gave the Rangers the lead for good.
Nelson Cruz followed that up with an RBI double, and the Rangers held on for the win.
