Nashville Fire Department opening new Joelton fire station

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The city will open a new fire station in Joelton on Wednesday.

Fire Station 30, which cost $4.1 million to build, is located at 3715 Old Clarksville Hwy.

The facility was constructed on farmland just across the street of the aging station and is a modern, energy-efficient, one-story structure.

The city says the 15,042 square-foot station has been designed to blend in with the neighborhood and built to last more than 50 years.

The Joelton location is the fourth station to be completed in a six-part plan to rebuild aging fire halls.

The facility contains solar roof panels and an electric vehicle charging station.
