Judge declines to dismiss MLB drug lawsuit

Posted: Updated:

Miami, FL (WOIO) - In the wake of another performance-enhancing drug controversy, Miami Dade County Circuit Court judge Ronald Dresnick declined to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Major League Baseball recently against a South Florida clinic operator believed to be part of the recent Biogenesis scandal.

The MLB has had the opportunity to use the lawsuit to aid its pursuit to find new information regarding players and their involvement with clinics such as Biokem and the Biogenesis of America clinic.

The lawsuit will take a look into the involvement of Carlos Acevedo, Tony Bosch and five other unnamed characters in the recent PED scandal involving over 20 MLB players, including Ryan Braun, Alex Rodriguez and Bartolo Colon.
