Kyrie continues to deliver, even in offseason

Posted: Updated:

Cleveland (WOIO) - Kyrie Irving has arrived. Of course, we've been saying that for a couple of years now, as the Cavs guard racked up his Rookie of the Year award in 2012, his Rising Stars Challenge MVP award at the 2012 All-Star game, and his 3-Point Shootout title at the 2013 All-Star game. But really, now, this summer, he has actually arrived, because Irving will soon land one of the most coveted honors in any sport: the cover of a video game.

Kyrie will grace the cover of NBA Live 2014. Cool stuff, but not as cool as Brazil, 2016. And that's the next big goal on his agenda: impressing his old college coach, Coach K, enough to land on Team USA.

Irving will head to Vegas in July, along with teammates Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller, to take part in Team USA's mini-camp. 24 other players have been invited, so it's a pretty exclusive club, but one that Irving is ready to join. You remember a year ago, Kyrie worked out against the U.S. Team? Well, now there's a pretty good shot he'll be playing for it.

It'll be an interesting summer for the Cavaliers, to say the least. They're just two weeks away from the NBA Draft, in which they own the top overall pick. The last time they had that honor, two years ago, they made the right call. And Kyrie Irving continues to deliver.
