CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The teenage girl accused in the fatal hit and run of an elderly woman was scheduled to appear before a judge on Thursday, but the court appearance was continued.

This, as both sides continue to work on a plea deal.

Police say the 17-year-old driver struck Maxine Lobins, 81, near Kamm's Corner on January 9. Lobins was using a walker and was crossing southbound to northbound in a marked crosswalk.

After hitting the great-grandmother, the teenage girl did not stop and continued eastbound on Lorain. Lobins was taken to Fairview Hospital, where she was pronounce dead on arrival.

No new court date has been scheduled at this time.
