HOLMES COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Saturday just before 8 p.m.

The crash happened on State Route 3 between County Road 385 and County Road 22, north of the Village of Loudonville in Holmes County.

Jeremy Burkepile, 35, of Perrysville was southwest on State Route 3 on a black 2006 Harley-Davidson FXDBI Street Bob motorcycle. As Burkepile entered a curve to the right just south of County Road 22, his motorcycle drifted off the left side of the roadway.

The motorcycle struck the ditch and overturned, throwing Burkepile off the vehicle.

EMS and rescue personnel from Loudonville and Western Holmes departments as well as Metro Life Flight responded but Burkepile was pronounced dead at the scene.

Burkepile was not wearing a helmet. The events leading up to Burkepile's death remain under investigation.
