CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A mother has pleaded guilty for driving drunk and causing a crash that left her baby paralyzed.

Monday morning, Antonia Earley pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault, endangering children and driving under the influence of alcohol.

January 3, Earley, 29, was operating her vehicle while under the influence of drugs and alcohol in the area of East 82nd Street and Broad Avenue in Cleveland, lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole.

Earley had her one-year-old son seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The child was not seated in a car seat and was restrained only by the seat belt.

Police and EMS arrived on scene and found the victim unconscious on the front seat. The victim suffered multiple fractures to both femurs, head and brain trauma, as well as vertebrae fractures, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.

Police also located an unloaded handgun in Earley's vehicle.

Earley faces sentencing next month BY Judge Brian Corrigan.
