Cleveland (WOIO) - The Kansas City Royals always seem to make life tough for the Tribe, but on Tuesday night at Progressive Field, the Indians found a way to pay 'em back, rallying for three runs in the 8th, and holding on in the 9th for a dramatic 4-3 win.
The Royals jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Ubaldo Jimenez in the second inning, without getting a hit, before the Indians put the rally caps on. Mike Aviles' RBI single cut it to 2-1 in the 6th, and then they charged hard in the 8th, as Michael Bourn, Jason Kipnis and Michael Brantley all drove in runs to give them the lead for good.
Vinnie Pestano came on in the 9th and got out of a bases-loaded jam, getting Eric Hosmer to ground out to end it.
With the win, the Indians jump back over the Royals into second place in the division, and have a chance to win their third straight series on Wednesday night.
