Davon L. Phillips, 19, is charged with aggravated arson.

Crews were able to quickly contain the blaze, limiting the damage to the rear stage work room. Investigators tell 19 Action News the room in the rear stage area was used to build sets for productions at the Performing Arts Center and contained a supply of wooden building materials.

Phillips is a June graduate of Medina High, and was employed at the time of the fire as a custodial worker by the school.

He's currently jailed in Medina County and is awaiting a court date.
