PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

A large boa constrictor was found on Kent Road in Franklin Township Monday morning.

Portage County Dog Warden Jason Williard was called out to remove the snake.

When Williard arrived on the scene, he was surprised to see a Columbian Red Tail boa constrictor about 7-8 feet long!

Williard says the snake appeared in good condition and about six to eight years old.

The snake is not on the state list of exotic animals that require a permit.

The boa is now in a dog crate at the dog warden's shelter while Williard and the Portage County dog warden's office work on getting it rescued.
