CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Cleveland man was indicted on felony charges Wednesday by the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.

The suspect, Donte D. Harris, stole the identity of a Michigan resident and proceeded to commit crimes under his fake identity.

In January, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority police searched Harris's apartment on Pythias Avenue. The CMHA police found an Ohio ID card under the name of a man who lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Mr. Harris stole the social security card, birth certificate, and bank statements of the Michigan resident to obtain Ohio ID cards under the false name in 2009 and 2010. Harris committed at least six crimes in Cleveland under his fake identity including driving under the influence and drug possession.

Harris was indicted by the court on four counts of forgery, four counts of uttering, four counts of tampering with records and one count of identity fraud.

Donte D. Harris is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on July 11th.
