Shopping and saving for 4th of July

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Smokey Robinson used to sing, my mamma told me you better shop around.  That's good advice when it comes to saving big on Fourth of July festivities too.

Burt Saltzman of Dave's Supermarkets knows a thing or two about deals. His store is stocked up and ready for those getting a jump on holiday shopping.

Geraldine Gay knows that the early bird gets the best deals.  That's why she's stocking up early. "I got bread, cabbage and mac and cheese, stuff that I need for my side dishes, cole slaw," she said.

The fourth wouldn't be right without mouthwatering hot dogs -- on sale at Dave's in a 2-for-six deal.  The right item at the right price sale on all the meats you need to feed that army of guests coming over for the fourth.

Stores all over are thinking about you and what you will buy to enjoy the fourth.  If you can't eat just one, Lays are on sale at a decent price as well.

To make sure you don't get eaten up, don't forget the insect repellent. Remember the charcoal and lighter fluid.
