Tall Ships sail into Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A fleet of tall ships will again visit Cleveland this summer to participate in the Port of Cleveland 2013 Tall Ships Festival.

The festival kicks off Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. with the Parade of Sail, that's when the tall ships enter Cleveland's harbor.

The festival will run until Sunday, July 7, at the Port of Cleveland docks, just north of First Energy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns.

The port will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Ship boarding begins at 11:00 a.m. 

Ticket prices are:

  • $14 Day Of
  • $12 Advance Sale
  • $11 Groups 10+, Seniors (65+), Rotarians and Military
  • $8 Children 6-1 (under 5 free)

On Friday, all military service members in uniform will get in for free with a military I.D. for Port of Cleveland Day. 

Invited tall ships include Lynx, Appledore IV, Peacemaker, Pride of Baltimore, Unicorn, Sørlandet, Hindu, Denis Sullivan, Pathfinder, Liana's Ransom and Halie & Matthew. 

The festival site will remain open for July 4 until 11:00 p.m.  Fireworks will take place at 10:00 p.m.  An additional $5 will be charged for visitors after 5:00 p.m.  The ships will not be available for boarding after scheduled times. 

Sponsored by the Cleveland-Cuyahoga Port Authority and presented by the Rotary Club of Cleveland, the event will feature five days of family-oriented fun.
