It's become a Fourth of July tradition just like fireworks and cookouts. The Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest was Thursday and Joey Chestnut defended his championship by scarfing down 69 hot dogs in just 10 minutes. The total being one better than his personal best. The next closest competitor was Matt "Megatoad" Stonie who ate 51 total dogs.
Chestnut, a San Jose California Native, has now won seven times in the famous hot dog eating contest.
On the woman's side, Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas had a much closer decision edging out Juliet Lee by three fourths of a hot dog, 36 3/4 to 36.
