Shock Jock Rover locked up in Cleveland; awaiting charges

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A syndicated radio show host was arrested early Friday morning and is now locked up at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.

Rover, whose real name is Shane French, hosts Rover's Morning Glory weekday mornings on WMMS.

Rover, 37, was arrested by Cleveland Police on July 5, 2013 at approximately 3:40 a.m. at 4900 Whiskey Island Drive after a party he and his friends had.

"Doesn't surprise me with his behavior last night. It was totally out of hand and is actually downright dangerous and lethal," said Mark Vadaj.

According to the police report, French and his friends were approached by an off-duty officer who asked them to stop setting off their fireworks.

After the officer identified himself and showed his badge, French reportedly told the cop he didn't believe him and pushed him in his back.

On Friday, fireworks casings still littered the area, along with gun powder on picnic tables, and worst of all -- damage to other people's expensive boats.

Rover was arrested for fireworks charges, assault, aggravated drunken disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

He is not yet charged and it is not known when he will be in court.
