Police: Suspicious man attempts to sway child into car

READING, OH (FOX19) -

The Reading Police Department received a complaint about a suspicious man that tried to convince a child to get into his car on the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue at 4:00 p.m. on July 4.

According to the complaint, the man asked if the child wanted to get unto his vehicle, a green Toyota Camry with a temporary license plate. When the child told the man that entering the vehicle was not a wish, the man continued to attempt persuade the child to enter the vehicle.

The child was not injured and safely continued to its destination.

The suspect is described as a black male, bald, wearing a purple and blue plaid shirt. He also wore Coach Sunglasses hanging from his shirt according to the child.
