ROCKY RIVER, OH (WOIO) -

Indians player Chris Perez and his wife showed up at Rocky River Municipal Court on Tuesday morning to answer to drug charges.

Perez and his wife, Melanie, are facing the drug charges after undercover agents delivered a package they say contained 5.7 ounces of marijuana to the Perez home in Rocky River last month. The package was sent from California and addressed to the family dog.

Investigators say Perez took them to his stash and admitted it was his marijuana.

On Tuesday, the couple's attorney asked for additional discovery, or evidence. The judge granted the request and continued the hearing until September 3.

Perez and his wife then slipped out the back door of the Probation Department.
