Search continues for missing teen swimmer in Ashtabula County

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The Coast Guard along with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department, are continuing their search for a 13-year-old boy in Saybrook Park.

The Coast Guard reports the call for help came in just before 9 p.m. Friday, July 12. 

The teen was said to have been swimming with a group of people, who noticed that he wasn't with them after they had already left the are.

Several police, fire and rescue departments, including a dive team are assisting in the search which is resuming on Saturday morning, July 13.

According to the Coast Guard, a C130 aircraft from North Carolina, a helicopter from Detroit and a boat from Ashtabula are all on deck for the Saturday search mission.

There is no more information available at this time.
