CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police filed aggravated murder charges Monday afternoon against the man accused of killing his girlfriend at her job.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Metal Fabrication Company at 10408 Berea Road in Cleveland.

Police say Maurice Brown walked into the business and shot Doris Schobel, 29, multiple times in the back. Brown then allegedly walked up to her and shot her again.

After the shooting, Brown fled the scene, but was arrested later that evening in the area of East 65th and Superior.

Records show the shooting happened after Schobel had a long argument with someone on the phone.

Records also show Schobel showed co-workers a picture of a man on her phone and told them, "if I end up dead, he would be the one who did it".

Co-workers told police the argument was over the victim telling the suspect she had an abortion.

19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek has learned Schobel filed two police reports recently against
Brown. One was on July 6 for criminal damaging and one on June 28 for domestic violence.
