The 2013 MLB All Star festivities kicked off Monday night with the Home Run Derby. While Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder was favored to win his third derby in a row, it was the Oakland Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes who stole the show with 17 home runs in the first round.

Cespedes was not done as he advanced to the Finals edging out Washington Nationals slugger Bryce Harper by a final of 9-8.

Cespedes racked up a total of 32 home runs throughout the derby, the longest going 456 feet. Fielder had the longest blast of all competitors, going 483 feet.
